Publicly Shared Information
Certain areas of our blog contain information supplied by visitors and others. JubakPicks.com is not responsible for comments, advice, information, or any other posting made by visitors or others in these areas. We reserve the right to review materials posted in any public areas and to delete or edit them, for any reason, at any time.
Information You Provide to Us
The only personal information this website obtains about you is information voluntarily provided by you through our website, via the registration process. Certain areas of the website do not require registration. This means that it is possible to visit and navigate through our site without giving us personally identifiable information. To contribute comments, images, content or to receive our newsletter you must register and log-in. When registering you will be required to provide us with a limited amount of personal information such as your full name, e-mail address and postal code.
During registration or while signing-up for the newsletter or other direct mailings we may invite you to provide additional information such as gender, age range, postal address, etc. Your decision to provide us with this additional information is entirely voluntary.
We use one of the top email service providers, MailChimp, to manage our email lists. Every time you receive an email from us you will have the option to unsubscribe via a link in the email footer. You may also unsubscribe from our emails by un-checking the appropriate box in the Jubak Emails section of your profile page. [Note: to access your profile page log-in to JubakPicks.com and click the link in the upper right-hand corner that says “Welcome, your name.”] We never share email addresses with any third party — we don’t trade, sell, or give them away under any circumstances.
Information that is Automatically Collected
We collect information about our readers as a group through standard analysis of our web server log files. This information may include your computer’s IP address, information about your web browser and operating system and the pages you visit.
In addition, we will also track basic usage information such as click patterns, referring/exit pages, browser identification and clickstream information through web analytics software.
We may need to disclose your personally identifiable information when required by law. In such cases, we may raise or waive any legal objection or right available to us. You authorize us to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate.
Use of Personal Information
If you register with us to receive the newsletter, to become a member of our Community or to post items, we will not sell, rent or authorize any third party to use your e-mail address without your permission. This also applies to any information that personally identifies you, except as noted immediately below. We do, however, share information about our audience in aggregate form. For example, we may want to know how long the average reader spends on our site or which pages or features get the most attention.
Certain areas of our website allow you to post information about yourself and communicate with others, as well as post reviews and upload content. You should understand that information you provide through the registration process or post to the public areas of our website may be accessible by, and made public through, syndication programs and by search engines, metasearch tools, crawlers, metacrawlers and other similar programs. Such postings may appear on other websites or when searches are executed on the subject of your posting. When you voluntarily disclose personal information on a public site such as ours, that information will be publicly available.
Use of Non-Personally Identifiable Information
We use this information to evaluate use of the site and to determine which areas we need to improve. By evaluating usage patterns, demographic, interests and general behavior, we are able to better understand and serve our audience. This information is used exclusively in aggregate form and is not directly linked to personally identifiable information. This non-personal information will include data such as how many persons visited a particular page or activity, the length of their visit, the average age of our visitors on the site or page, income distribution, or the preferences of our visitors.
